Overview
We are seeking an AI-forward IT Manager to help modernize our internal technology environment while optimizing our relationship with our managed service provider (MSP). Our company is expanding its digital footprint and beginning to integrate AI tools across multiple departments. Today, core IT operations are handled through a third-party MSP, but we are looking to build internal capability, strategic oversight, and automation leadership over the next 24 months.
This is not a CIO position. We are looking for a hands-on builder who enjoys solving real operational problems using technology, automation, and practical AI applications.

Key Responsibilities
- AI Integration & Automation
- Lead practical integration of AI tools across the company
- Identify and implement workflows where AI can improve efficiency
- Assist leadership in developing a company AI roadmap
- Build AI systems connected to company knowledge sources (SharePoint, internal documentation, etc.)
- Integrate APIs from third-party software platforms into internal automation systems
- Serve as the internal owner of technology strategy
- Manage and coordinate with the existing Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Improve visibility into IT service levels, response times, and ticket resolution
- Identify areas where internal capability should replace outsourced services
- Audit current software licenses, SaaS tools, and vendor contracts
- Reduce redundant systems and unnecessary spend
- Document infrastructure, processes, and internal systems
- Build an internal knowledge repository and technical documentation
- Reduce reliance on outside support for routine tasks
- Evaluate which IT services should remain outsourced vs. internalized
- AI-enabled workflows that save measurable employee time
- Reduced reliance on external IT vendors through smarter internal capability
- Lower IT support ticket volume and improved resolution accountability
- Improved cybersecurity awareness and AI governance practices
- A clear technology operating model before the next MSP contract decision
- 3+ years’ experience in IT systems, infrastructure, or IT management
- Experience implementing or experimenting with AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, automation platforms)
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, APIs, and workflow automation
- Experience working with managed service providers (MSP environments)
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business improvements
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / SharePoint environments
- Automation platforms or scripting
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Vendor and software cost optimization
- AI deployment within business operations
- A basic understanding of the construction industry or experience working with construction-related software platforms (not required but beneficial)
